When He was
Heir to the throne, H.S.H. Prince Albert conduct regularly
various missions and official visits, notably
:
Western Asia,
Kazakhstan,
Almaty, visit, January-February 2007

South East Asia,
June 1996
This
trip was aimed at promoting the Principality of Monaco and to
establish contacts with Heads of State and members of
parliament, as well as with those in the upper echelons of the
spheres of business and economics.
In Thailand : His Highness was received by H.R.H.
Princess Maha Chakri Sirindorn and H.R.H. Prince Maha
Vajiralongkorn, and met with members of
parliament.
In
Singapore : Initial contacts were made with a view to a closer
collaboration in the fields of commerce and tourism. Several
discussions were held with Mr. Ong Teng Cheong, President of
the Republic, and members of
parliament.
In
Hong Kong : His
Highness had the opportunity of speaking with a number of
leading business-people and economic
representatives. |

South
East Asia, November 1997
His Highness led a mission for economic and tourism
promotion for the Principality of Monaco to Malaysia,
Indonesia and the Sultanate of Brunei. During this trip, the Prince met with :
H.M. Dymm Yang Di Pertuan Agong, King of Malaysia, H.R.H. The
Crown Prince of the Sultanate of Pahang and members of the
Royal family, H.E. Mr. Suharto, President of the Republic of
Indonesia and H.M. the Sultan of
Brunei.
Japan,
February 1998
Upon
an invitation by the Japanese Government, His Highness made an
official visit to Japan, where he was received in a private
audience by H.M. the Emperor and H.M. the Empress as well as
H.I.H. Crown Prince and H.I.H. Princess
Masako. This visit was
coupled with an economic mission, followed by meetings with
the country's highest ranking
authorities.
Canada, June 1998
This visit fitted into the framework of a diplomatic
and economic tour with meetings centring on the
French-Speaking World, the Olympic Games, Multimedia and
University exchange programs between the two
countries. His Highness
met with the Deputy Prime Minister, Bernard Landry and the
Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Government of
Ottawa.
The
Lebanon, September 1998
Crown Prince Albert was received in Beirut in an
audience with the President, Mr. Elias Hraoui, and also held
talks with the Prime Minister, Mr. Rafic
Hariri. Added to by
conferences of an economic character, this visit fitted within
the framework of the Convention of Co-operation signed in 1994
by the two countries, which provides for the contribution of
financial and technical aid on behalf of the Principality, for
a reforestation program on the site of El Barouk on Mount
Lebanon.
Brazil,
November 1998
Invited by the Brazilian Government, the Prince was
received in audience in Brasilia, by H.E. President Fernando
Henrique Cardoso. This official visit was coupled with an
economic mission to Sao Paolo.
Switzerland, March
1999
During a trip
to Berne, the Prince was received in a private audience by
Mrs. Ruth Dreifuss, President of the Swiss Federal Republic,
and held talks over lunch with Mr. Flavio Cotti, Federal
Councillor for Foreign Affairs.
China, June 1999
Upon an invitation by the Chinese
Government, His Highness made an official visit to the
People's Republic of China from June 10th to 17th. His
Highness led a delegation composed of representatives of the
Monegasque Government and the economic and business
fields. During his trip,
the Prince was received in audience by Mr. Jiang Zemin,
President of People's Republic of China, Mr. Hu Jintao,
Vice-president, and Mr. Tang Jiaxuan, Minister for Foreign
Affairs. The Prince and
the Monegasque delegation visited Pekin, Xian, Shangaï and
Hong Kong.
Tunisia,
October 1999
From
October 2nd to 5th, upon an invitation by M. Hamed Karoui,
Prime Minister of Tunisia, H.S.H Crown prince Albert made an
official visit to Tunisia. His Highness has been received by
M. Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, M. Hamed Karoui, Prime Minister
and M. Saïd Ben Mustapha, Minister for the Foreign
Affairs.
Philippines, November 1999
Upon an invitation by H.E.M. Joseph
Estrada, President of the Republic of the Philippines, H.S.H
Crown Prince Albert made an official visit in this country
from November 8th to 10th. His Highness has been received by
the President of the Philippines, Mrs Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo,
Vice-President et M. Domingo Siazon, Ministry of Foreign
Affairs. During His stay,
Prince Albert visited the Rice International Research
Institute of Los Banos , the island of Corregidor and Subic
Bay.
Jordan,
November 2000
At
the invitation of His Majesty the King Abdallah II, Crown
Prince Albert went to Jordan from the 7th to November 9th to
take part in the conference "Peace by tourism", organized by
"the International Institute for Peace through Tourism". It
gathered more than two hundred participants from sixty
countries. With this occasion, the Principality joined with
the creation of a park dedicated to the late King Hussein of
Jordan.
Morocco,
March 2001
From
the 11th to the 13th of March, Crown Prince Albert paid an
official visit to the Kingdom of Morocco. His Highness was
received in Royal Audience by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
The talks were related to the development of long standing
friendly relations which link Morocco and the
Principality. Crown Prince
Albert went to the Royal Mausoleum to deposit a wreath on the
tomb of His Majesty Mohammed V and to pay homage to His
Majesty Hassan II. Prince
Albert also visited the Hassan II Mosque of
Casablanca. A stay marked
by the signature of a convention-program between Monaco and
Morocco, including a technical aid, exchanges of information
and competences as well as the supply of equipment intended
for the quality control of the air in urban
environment. This trip was
doubled with a mission carried out by a delegation of the
Economic Chamber of Development of Monaco in order to develop
trade between the two countries.
Russian Federation, July
2001
His Serene
Highness Prince Albert was the host of the Russian Government
from July 9th to 11th, 2001, before taking part in the 112th
session of the International Olympic Committee held in Moscow
from July 12th to 16th. The Prince was made Honorary Member of the Naval
Assembly in Saint Petersburg. He was then received in Moscow by Mr. Mikhail
Kassianov, President of the Government of the Russian
Federation and was his host over lunch. His Highness also met Mr. Ivan Sergueev,
Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the Ministry of Economic
Development. The latter reaffirmed the support of his country
towards the adhesion of Monaco at the European
Council. A joint
declaration on cultural exchanges was signed at the Ministry
of Culture. The Prince
made a speech in front of the members of the Commission of
Foreign Affairs of the State's Douma. He pointed out the
actions undertaken by the Principality towards the
international authorities before drawing the attention of the
Russian deputies sitting at the Parliamentary Assembly of the
European Council on the importance of their support to the
Principality at the time of the decisive vote concerning its
admission at the European Council. Mr. Dimitri Rogosine,
President of this Commission confirmed the support of the
Russian deputies. During
his stay Crown Prince Albert also visited the "City of Stars",
training center for astronauts and the Red
Square.
Republic of
Slovakia, May 2002
Upon an invitation by H.E.M. Rudolf Schuster, President
of the Republic of Slovakia, H.S.H. Crown Prince Albert made
an official visit in this country from May 28th to
30th. His Highness was
received by the President, and H.E. Mr. Mikulas Dzurinda,
Prime Minister, H.E. Mr. Eduard Kukan, Minister of Foreign
Affairs, Mr. Jozef Migas, President of the National
Council. During His stay,
Prince Albert was made Honorary member of the Miner's
Brotherhood of the city of Banska Stiavnica and was qualified
as a Blacksmith by the President in his native village of
Medzev. During the talks,
Slovakian authorities responded favorably to the request of
opening an Honorary Consulate of the Principality in
Bratislava and expressed their hope to see Monaco becoming
soon a member of the Council of
Europe.
Central America, November
2002
Republic of El Salvador Upon an invitation by H.E. Mr. Francisco
Flores, President of the Republic of El Salvador, H.S.H. Crown
Prince Albert was the host of this country from 21st to 25th
November 2002. Prince Albert inaugurate the Honorary Consulate
of the Principality in San Salvador. He also gave a check of
152.000 euros to the President consisting in the first payment
of the tri-annual assistance by the Principality to Salvador.
Those funds will be used for the maintenance of sports and
socials equipments built for the 19th Central Americans and
Caribbean's Games. Crown Prince Albert, sponsor of those Games
participate in the official ceremony on November 23rd, at the
San Salvador stadium.
Republic of Panama On November 26th and 27th, H.S.H. Crown Prince Albert,
upon the invitation of H.E. Mrs. Mireya Moscoso, President of
the Republic of Panama, visit this country. H.E. Mr. Juan
Carlos Navarro, mayor of the capital, gave to His Serene
Highness the keys of the city. He went to the lock of
Miraflores on the Canal of Panama. Crown Prince Albert inaugurate a medical
and social center named "Princess Grace" Crown Prince Albert participate in Mexico,
in the 114th session of the International Olympic Committee.
Member of the CIO, and Honorary President of the International
Union of Modern Pentathlon, with the headquarter in Monaco,
Crown Prince Albert defend the maintenance of that sport in
the Olympic program.
Cameroon and Madagascar, March
2003
Prince Albert
traveled to Cameroon and Madagascar in March 10th to 14th and
visit health and education centers supported by Monegasque
charities. While in
Yaounde, Prince Albert was received by Mr. Paul Biya,
President of the Republic of Cameroon and visit the Princess
Grace Center for homeless children and juvenile
defenders.
In
Madagascar Prince Albert was received by President Marc
Ravalomanana. He has inaugurate the Rainier III Center in
Fianarantsoa that treats children suffering from rickets. This
center was created in 1997 at the initiative of Monegasque
school children and Monegasque charity
associations. Prince
Albert had also visited projects carried out by "Monaco Aide
et Presence" over the past three years in the Fianarantsoa
region. One such project was building a runway in the isolated
community of Safata and later constructing a primary school.
In Akamosoa, which is close to Antananarivo, Father Pedro
Opeka had received Prince Albert. With the help of MAP and
A.P.P.O., Father Pedro created a primary, middle and high
school; community clinic and cafeteria; as well as a village
of more than 100 homes.
Latin America : end of November beginning of December
2003
Chile
November, 2003 From the 26th to the 28th of November 2003, H.S.H.
Prince Albert paid an official visit to the Republic of Chile.
His Highness has been received by the President Ricardo Lagos.
During His stay He inaugurated a rosary garden dedicated to
Princess Grace at the Cultural Institute in the Providencia
Township. He also inaugurated the "AMADE Chile" offices
presided by Mrs. Danièle Biancheri-Quintana, Consul of Monaco
in Santiago. He also
visited the Roberto Del Rio pediatric hospital where He
presided over a ceremony marking the recent renovation of the
bronchial pulmonary wing. Hereditary Prince Albert proceeded on to a gala dinner
given in His honor by H.R.I.H. the Archduchess of Hapsburg de
Riesle. A charity evening in the profit to the "Fundacion
Auxilio Maltes".
Peru, December 2003 On December 1st, H.S.H. Prince Albert was
received by President of Peru, Mr. Toledo Manrique. During His
official visit in this country, His Serene Highness received
the keys of the city by Lima's mayor and attended an
equestrian show "Caballos Peruano de Paso" accompanied by Mrs.
Eliane Karp, wife of the Peruvian president. He also visit the
ruins of Pachacamac, the Osma Pedro Museum and the Peru Gold
Museum.
Costa
Rica, December 2003 On His arrival in Costa Rica, on December 2nd, H.S.H.
Prince Albert was received by President Pacheco de Espriella.
Prince Albert made a presentation about Monaco to the Costa
Rican parliament. Prince Albert attend a charity gala dinner
organized by the President's wife in the benefit of the Costa
Rican Red Cross. During
His stay He also visit the Gold Museum, the "Finki Doka"
coffee plantation, the Manuel Antonio National Park on the
pacific coast and walk on the flanks of the Poàs
volcano.
Republic
of Bulgaria , November 2004
Upon an invitation by H.E. Mr. Gueorgui
Parvanov, President of the Republic of Bulgaria, H.S.H. Crown
Prince Albert made an official visit in this country on
November 26th and 27th, 2004. His Highness was received by the
President and H.M. Siméon de Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, Prime
Minister. He also had talks with the Ministry of Education and
Sciences regarding the accession of Bulgaria to the CIESM, and
with the Ministry of the Environment on the bilateral
agreement signed regarding the help provide by Monaco in the
region of the Natural Parc of Stranja since 1993. During His
stay, Prince Albert received the "Strara Planina Orde" with
ribbon and visit the monastery of Bachkovo.
